It depends on your traffic obviously. Not all traffic is equal. What kind of traffic do you have? Targeted PPC traffic can be lower than 1:10, whereas lower quality traffic such as a banner on a TGP is going to convert much higher, while a targeted text link on the same TGP will convert better than the banner.

But even if you have TGP or similar quality traffic, you can still keep your conversions down by QUALIFYING your traffic as best as you possibly can. Tell them exactly what the product will do/is about, so only people that are really interested are going to click through.

We have lots of affiliates converting below 1:200, or for that matter below 1:50, BUT it all depends on the traffic. Of course we also have lots converting above 1:200 off of exits etc.
