google and 404

I have several domains, each with hundreds of pages listed in google, but
the traffic is low, those are nontargeted cloacked doorways ... pure spam :)

and I would like to use these domains for new, better optimized pages, cuz they are all PR5+

now can I delete those pages and via .htaccess redirect
all traffic to the root?

will it hurt my PR or will google penalize my domains for it?

what do you think?

You can redirect them easy but you can't delete nothing from Google if that is what you mean. don't know if google would penalize you.

thanks for links, I know how to redirect it to the root, but I'm not sure what will do google, when all my listed links will point to root (thru .htaccess redirect)

i think if you delete your PR pages and redirect traffic through htaccess, after next google dance you might not find your pages in google, dunno for sure.

that's not problem ... as long as root will stay in google with its PR
and the domain won't be penalized

I don't want my old pages in google index, I'll add new ones .

think I'll test in on a few domains first :)
