Blatt To Promote Hilton Video For Red Light District

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Saying he expects it to become the best-selling video of all time, adult industry veteran Kevin "KB" Blatt has been hired by Red Light District Video to promote 1 Night in Paris, the infamous video starring Paris Hilton and her then-boyfriend, Rick Salomon.

The video will hit the stores June 9.

"I can?t wait until the public sees this video," Blatt said announcing the video and his hiring to represent Red Light District. "It is not the grainy, infrared tape that people saw all over the Web and the news, but rather a full color, beautifully shot video that could rival the cinematic skills of Tommy Lee," the latter an allusion to the infamous Pamela Anderson/Tommy Lee honeymoon sex video. "The special features also include a 'cleaned up' version of the famous infrared tape, never-before-seen footage of the two, and great bonus sex scenes - the running time on the video is one hour and two minutes," he said.

Blatt most recently handled public relations for Marvad Corp., whose SexBrat.com became notorious when it was revealed they didn't have the rights to the Hilton video, a video that provoked several rounds of litigation including suits between Salomon and the Hilton family. The flap brought Blatt attention enough from the mainstream media, including Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, The Howard Stern Show, 20/20, and other outlets.

The tape was brokered to SexBrat by Salomon's former roommate, Donald Thrasher. Salomon is suing Marvad for a reported $10 million.

Red Light District president David Joseph said in a statement that 1 Night In Paris could become a million seller "based off the initial sales orders we have seen." He also said Red Light was excited to have Blatt handling the public relations side of the release.

"We know that KB has a real affinity regarding this tape and is very motivated to get the word out about Red Light District Video," he said. "We are very confident that his abilities combined with our great reputation will make this video a huge success".

In February, Marvad filed court papers charging that Hilton herself directed the video, and that Salomon's suit against them should be thrown out because he wasn't the sole copyright owner as he had first claimed. Marvad argued the Salomon suit against them should be thrown out because Hilton, too, holds rights to the tape and the tape was put into cyberspace without her approval.

Salomon's attorneys filed papers in April asking to drop a suit Salomon filed against Hilton's family last November, accusing the family and the heiress of mounting a campaign to paint him as a rapist who took advantage of Hilton.

I think it will be one of the top sellers. It all depends on how they plan on distributing it. I think Jenna Jameson holds the current title of most sold DVD. And her DVD has some time on it's side compared to the Paris vid. Also things could happen later legally which would cause it to be pulled from the sellers list.

If it was released sooner, it might have been, but most have seen it now and while I don't doubt it'll sell well, I don't think it will sell as well now as it would have a couple months ago.

I'd be willing to bet that XPays isn't making as much from the video in a month as Atherton was making in a day from the video...

you know it will do well for sure but this is old hat though .... pam and tommy was the first and biggest and then there were a whole bunch of failed ones...

also i think that the paris hype died down a little maybe not in the mainstream world and for DVD and VHS distribution but alot of people that did buy into the Paris thing in the beginning got ripped so they might actually be a little leary about buying into another wesite... as for DVD and VHS there is always a sucker out there that did not get the video off of Kazzaa and will buy it... who knows ...

personally i do not really like her that much maybe it is when she opens her mouth to speak and really nothing of substance comes out that i just get tired of it ..

I really do think so- already close to a half a million pre ordered to wholesalers, and that number is growing daily.

I can tell you 100% that this video's wholesale price is the highest I have ever heard of for a tangible product.

Is the Paris' Hype OVER? NOT AT ALL.

Not only is she still one of the most searched type ins on the major engines, she is on the cover of Rolling Stone in a few weeks, Vanity Fair, and is the new Guess girl.

She is also shopping around a "hot" single to al lthe record companies in LA and from what I hear form industry insiders it's UNREAL and people will look at Paris in a whole new light.

Simple Life 2 premieres June 12th- already one of the most anticipated shows of the season. It was FOX's #1 show

Like her or hate her- you cannot deny her of her props. The girl is making bank right now with endorsement deals and many other movie roles are being offered to her.

As far as the model release is concerned - I am not a lawyer so I cannot even begin to delve into that topic too much- all I can say is that Rick holds the copyright on the tape, Period.


If you think that every new credit card being issued to college students on campuses all over the country aren't going to buy this product online or in stores- you are all crazy.

This tape is a slice of Americana, it's as american as Apple Pie, Hot Dogs, and Chevrolet.

I will make a hard push to someday put this original video tape in the Smithsonian next to Archie Bunker's chair.

It blows my mind how otherwise smart net-heads always discount the strength of hard disc sales.
The volume of downloads of the video is only a barometer of how well this DVD is going to sell. It is completely unjustified to say that "everyone has seen it already".
The marketing is brilliant, the timing is excellent, the model is hotter than hell - it's got all the markings of a GIGANTIC seller in the online stores and the brick and mortar stores. Plus, your description of the re-editing of the content has me intrigued.

Your numbers on the pre-orders are just blowing me away!

Of course, our cost on the disc is blowing me away too!
It's kept me from offering it for Pre-Order online yet, I'm still arguing with our buyers over the ultimate retail price on the disc. I'll have it settled by Monday though - waiting this long to offer the disc for pre-order is costing us.

You are right on point with your predictions and as one the best online toystores around I highly recommend that all of PECASH'S affiliates start thinking about how much money they can make upselling the PH video "1 Night In Paris"

The price is right for the product believe it or not. I know that it's going to be huge for the online retailers and they'll make all of their money on the shipping and handling.

I can imagine a lot of people will be opting for an overnight delivery shipment.

The press will start hitting hard after May 26th- but so far we are getting all kinds of media attention and a lot of foreign sales orders-
