this is going to be a long day. how about
minimum Hardware requirements? is 32MB video card and 512MD Ram enough?

more RAM (like 1GB or more)

fast & large hard disk (maybe try with raid array)

better graphic card (if you want to go cheaper - matrox, if you want pro then your CC is your limit)

Rendering is very, very, processor intensive.

I use two 2.8ghz XEON processors for this reason. Vegas uses both processors very nicely.

You'll want to have at least enough free ram to hold the clips you're going to be working with, if it all possible.

The more swapping your machine does, the slower everything will be.
