May have to expand to a top 7 and include those 2!

Maybe even stretch it to a top 8 and add Hi Fidelity.

Shoehorn! 05-07-2004 06:48 AM

I don't know about top 5, but you can't make a list like this without

Animal House
The Thomas Crown Affair
Dumb & Dumber
Old School

Can't think of anymore, it's late here.

Trafficbrokercom 05-07-2004 06:49 AM

the godfather, Shawshank Redemption, meet the feebles and snatch were already mentioned ..

I would also add The Pianist and Memento ..

But is a "Top 5" Movie a movie that really is a great movie because of the story, the actors etc. or is a "Top 5" Movie a movie that you could see over and over again .. ? ..

I could watch every Austin Powers movie every day nonstop but I wouldn't add them to a Toplist , whereas I could watch The Pianist or Schindler's List only every six months or so ..

Excellent point.

When I started this thread I suppose I was referring to "Most Memorable"..

But..

In my (ever-growing) list I could watch Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels every day, but like you, Schindlers List would be a struggle more than once a year.

One movie I mentioned, Von Ryan's Express, was like a sixties WWII epic (Damn, Frank Sinatra was Von Ryan!!), as was The Great Escape, but EVERY time they appear in the TV guide, like, I'm staying home that night man - crank up the popcorn maker!!

:glugglug

chodadog 05-07-2004 07:03 AM

My original list was,

The Shawshank Redemption
Good Will Hunting
Amelie
Dr. Strangelove
and Fight Club

But there are just so many others. Lock Stock, Snatch, A Beautiful Mind. Too many to list, really.

doornx 05-07-2004 07:03 AM

Evil Dead 2
Evil Dead 1
Resevoir Dogs
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
Halloween

it's more like the cult top 5
:glugglug

zzgundamnzz 05-07-2004 07:47 AM
