What is the best setting for me to use for mpeg's...

But seriously, you need to give more details man. What do you want to do? What frame size, what file size, how long.


Theres not just one setting for video.

and which compression software are you using?

MPEG-1 320x240 23.976fps CBR 500kbps, Layer-2 32000Hz 64kbps

The answer is really 12, 13 would be way too big & cost you a couple extra thousand in BW a month

500 minimum kpbs, 25 fps, 32k audio


That's about it. Keep the audio low as possible, drop some frames, MINIMUM 500 kpbs for movies. Although, if you're buying spots, you can put it as low and as ghetto as you want it seems. All the big TGPs and MGPs with movies sometimes have terrible, terrible quality links in their top 10s.

Why are u using Constant Bit Rate ? I find using 2-pass VBR achieves a smaller file with almost no quality loss ?

I'm using
video: mpeg1 600kbps 24fps
audio: layer2 , 32000Hz, 64kbps mono
