Parker is possesed. Even the veteran Payton can't beat his balls, so if ever Laker looses this series, blame it to the Payton.

Vitasoy 05-06-2004 03:42 PM

If they take the next game then... they'll repeat.

Lykos 05-06-2004 04:33 PM

I remember when Kobe and Shaq raped the Spurs in the playoffs. Spurs got sweped. Lakers only lost one game in that playoff run too.

baikal 05-06-2004 05:37 PM

Detroit win the title!!! L. Brown the best!!!

JohnV 05-06-2004 05:41 PM

I would say Indiana has the best chance of winning in the East...

The Lakers, as good as they are, won't beat the Spurs. They can't stop penetration by Parker, regardless of who they put on him. Parker is one of the fastest players in the league, and the aging Payton and Fisher stand no chance. Bowen provides Kobe with as much as he can handle, showing in his 7-17 shooting in game 2. That really leaves Shaq as the only offensive firepower, but that can't win the game. Shaq scored 32 in the game 2 loss, just to prove this point.

It all starts with the point, and Payton just isn't used to the triangle offense. Like the commentators were saying during the game, Payton's competetiveness is actually a negative in the triangle. When Payton gets scored on, he wants to take it back at that man, and make him play 'D', but the triangle with Kobe & Shaq doesn't really allow that. As a Sonics fan, and Seattle native, we watched Payton do that for years here, and now he can't.

Anyways, just my :2 cents: on the whole series, and I think it will be over in 5.

baikal 05-06-2004 05:50 PM

Just a dream about title :)

baikal 05-06-2004 05:55 PM

Indiana's players have no winning mentality :helpme

I think the only chance the Lakers will have in this series is if from the start of the game they give the ball to Shaq. No one can defend against Shaq. All he has to do is establish his dominance once again.

I think this year they went away from Shaq dominating and went with Kobe. If Shaq dominates in the paint then everything opens up. Just my :2 cents:

I never understood why they went away from Shaq's scoring...

frankiep 05-10-2004 03:28 PM

Gots to love them SPURS all the way.

SCtyger 05-10-2004 04:59 PM

it's the pick-n-roll ... the lakers have always had problems with that... doesnt matter how good are individually on D ... if someone picks u ... ur gonna get slowed down... and someone as quick as Parker can and will cut on a dime...

they pick off shaq.. cuz they know he's slow and reluctant to leave the paint...

when shaq plays some D .. lakers win... like in game3 8-blocks!!
