why do the two have to be mutually exclusive???

jt420 05-06-2004 01:52 PM

Alien life is more probable, the term god is vague. Some people think of a bearded dude in the sky while some look at the flow of nature and the essence of life to be considered god. Oh well this post needs a to be discussed over a bowl.

Rictor 05-06-2004 01:56 PM

God is dead. Aliens killed him.

Scott McD 05-06-2004 01:57 PM

Alien life... :2 cents:

ItBurnsWhenIpee 05-06-2004 01:57 PM

Let's assume possibilities of a planet producing life are, let's just use a random number like 1 in a million...

If there were supposedly 100 million planets, we would have 100 planets with life.

But then consider the fact that space is supposed to be infinite, not 100 million planets.

So basically there are an infinite number of planets that exist that can produce life?

I think aliens because of the size of the universe.. but they might have their own GODs who knows

benc 05-06-2004 03:10 PM

I would say aliens. For the simple fact that we are living proof that life is capable in the universe, so if there is another planet out there with the right conditions such as ours, its very possible.

Wheras, the nature of the univierse , god, etc, is harder to envision. I think there has to be a starting point to the creation, but what that starting point is, and was started by, is a total mystery.

That's what I've always figured... But then again, space may not be infinite, because if the big bang theory is correct, than space can't be infinite, it will only continue expanding :2 cents:

... But what the hell caused the big bang, anyway? :winkwink:

It's not actually infinite, BUT there are trillions of stars the size of our own sun with the same amount of energy given off and so the chances of habitable planets, even at .00001% of a trillion leaves 100,000 possile planets that could have life. Now that's only in 1 trillion, when there are trillions, so yeah, historically Gods could have been aliens. And perhaps they will return in 2013 and see what we've done for ourselves as human kind. A lot that needs to be done in the next 9 years though...

Cheers,
Matt

It's not infinite, as far as we can tell, but we do know that the universe is currently contracting (opposite of expanding). So in another couple billion/trillion years once everything is in a big clump of matter, and then gases build and then explode and reform a new universe.... it's probably already happened billions of times already too. Well, there are theories we currently are in the 4th big bang, though I don't remember where/who figured that out and with what tools/info.

Cheers,
Matt

Lets get crazy for a second....

The Cosmos and all its physical properties are proven to actually not be anything at all. there is no such thing as actual "Phyiscal Matter"

ATOM's for example. They are in theory hold no mass and are nothing more than a collection of swirling instances of gravity.

Einstien theories say that there is a commonality between Gravity and Time and that is what composes the make up our physical universe.

If true, it means we are nothing more than fluctuations in "Time" that materialise in the distortions of time and gravity which results in our very exhistance.

Thus Aliens obviously must exhist and are also constrained to the properties of our material plane.

So...

Smoke a fatty to that thought.
Its probably true.

Easton 05-06-2004 04:00 PM

alien life :thumbsup

Paul Waters 05-06-2004 04:00 PM

Most humans that have created a god, believe it to be omnipotent, which is patently absurd.

So no rational chance of a god.

Aliens win. Hands down.

:rasta

marcu5 05-06-2004 04:01 PM

There is no such thing time, only now. :glugglug

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 05-06-2004 04:07 PM

Whats always been strange to me is that I understand that "I" exhist and "I" am subject to the rules of this "Universe".

Aside from everything involved.

I know that its not the end of me when the faculties of my making break down due to the laws of this universe.

What bothers me really is 2 things.

I will repeat again and again the very life I am living repeatedly or rematerialise else where. Some other time, some other place.
If true we all been here before...

Where did you get the 2013 info? Because it is true.

In the year 2013, the "time" as we know it will change to the "Real Universe Time"... a non-lineal time, you can go back and forward. But only the humans who are prepared will live in the 4th, 5th, 6th.. and everyone hopes that many humans will have the 7th dimension.
