2 Hour "Friends" Finale -

10 years on TV - making 1 million each per episode - not bad :thumbsup

kimzar 05-06-2004 01:28 PM

realeasing the dvd of final episode next week

stev0 05-06-2004 01:29 PM

2 hour finale? wow.. i thought it was only 1.

DreamCumTrue 05-06-2004 01:29 PM

Yup, series finale is tonight, no more friends ever...a spin off called "joey" is taking its place

EnigmaTek 05-06-2004 01:32 PM

Not that I pay attention to any of this but it is 2 hours of Friends but a 1 hour final show. The 1st hour is two new 30 minute episodes then the 1 hour finale.

I hear that Phoebe takes it up the ass from Joey's big white ceramic dog.

FunForOne 05-06-2004 01:35 PM

great show, but the last couple of years they only produce about 6 or 7 new shows a season.

Actually it looks like it's a 1 hour retrospective thing before the finale, not two 30 minute new episodes.

And Phoebe taking anal from the ceramic dog is not confirmed or denied by NBC at this point.

cayne 05-06-2004 02:32 PM

10 years? wow that's a long time. started watching friends 1 year ago. just an awesome sitcom.

but they must be fucking rich...omg.

Thong Sniper 05-06-2004 02:33 PM

unfunny untalented people making lots of money in a comedy series. go fuckin' figure.

mpahlca 05-06-2004 02:38 PM

seriously does anyone care at this point which dog fucked which girl on the show? you want to know what's sick?

Think about this....Chandler kissed Rachel in college, rachel kissed ross, Chandler kissed Monica, Ross's Sister.

Now if you follow those big ole nasty path that means that Ross and Monica have been a little bit illegal in most states!

WarChild 05-06-2004 03:07 PM

They didn't always make $1 million each per episode. All the cast members were relative nobody's to begin with, with the possible exception of Courney Cox who had already appeared as Michael J. Fox's girlfriend on Family Ties.

What happened when they collectively renegotiated the $1 million per episode salary. I think it may be the first time that an entire television show cast has demanded one payday for all the actors. I'm not sure how long ago that was though. Maybe it was right after first season? Honestly don't know.

axelcat 05-06-2004 03:10 PM

adios friends

tootie 05-06-2004 03:11 PM

I haven't cried over the ending of a show since 90210, but I'm buying extra Kleenex tonight. LOL

mahoney 05-06-2004 03:12 PM

yeah it will be interesting to see how it ends

Semi-Retired-Dave 05-06-2004 03:15 PM

I read they are charging like 2 million bucks for 30 second spots tonight for the commercials. Thats Crazy.

SlickRick 05-06-2004 03:25 PM

I heard 4 weeks ago that they are going to kill Rachel off she dies in a plane crash.

SykkBoy 05-06-2004 03:25 PM

fuck that, I'll be watching the first hour WWF SmackDown! then CSI.

Black Dog 05-06-2004 03:29 PM

Friends is over? Damn. Oh well, at least they haven't cancelled Seinfeld. :Graucho:

Yeah, unfunny untalented people, that's why the show gets millions of viewers each week and that's why NBC can charge $2 million for a 30 second commercial for the finale.

bizmak 05-06-2004 03:32 PM

$1M each per episode ? WoW that's some serious money why do they end it anyway

Semi-Retired-Dave 05-06-2004 04:10 PM

I've watched it like 4 times. They started off making like 500 each, then they wanted a raise to 750, then they said either a mil each or we are walking. That's crazy.

Rictor 05-06-2004 04:19 PM

They are releasing the DVD 5 days after the finale.

I heard on TV last night that they actually started off at $22,000 an episode back on 94'. Yes, they've done pretty damn good for themselves. I remember when the show was new - *wow* how time flies.

Just saw the Olsen Twins on Dave Letterman the other night. I remember when they were just little babies on Full House. Shit - that seems like it was yesterday.....

tootie 05-06-2004 05:07 PM

It's on if anyone cares. :) (The pre-show retrospective, anyway.)

Actually it wasn't too long ago, they probably had 3-4 yrs of $1 million a episode.

Because like Coutrney Cox wants to start a family and all, and they don't want to continue the show without the whole team I think?

EviLGuY 05-06-2004 05:55 PM

I'm glad it's over.. thats all I can say.

fiftyfingers 05-06-2004 05:57 PM

if they scored the contract, imagine the money they'll make from all of the rebroadcasting. I think a tv station can purchase the rights to air 1 year of the series for a certain amount of times within 7 years.

newsdude 05-06-2004 07:11 PM

They've been around for so long. I'm sure many people got hooked on them.

Gman.357 05-06-2004 07:20 PM

Tonight was the first I actually watched the show in years. Won't spoil it for those on the West Coast, but I thought it was pretty good.

:glugglug

Mr. Marks 05-06-2004 07:21 PM

Geez, I'm gonna miss those guys.
They've been a part of my life.:(
