Real Stupid!: Woman's Baby Taken By State...Ooops!
 

I read my hometown paper and was shocked to see a story where a woman had her baby taken away by the county because she supposedly made threats against the child when she was pregnant.

Albeit if it was true I could see some cause for concern but get this:

The county goes into the hospital, takes the baby from the nursery because " The suspect had made threats against the child while pregnant and hadn't followed her prescribed mental illness therapy. "

Sounds somewhat okay BUT:

The woman had NEVER been professionally diagnosed as having any mental illness whatsoever NOR was on any therapy in the first place! Add to that, the so-called 'credible witnesses' who reported this woman as saying these things is only 'hearsay'. According to the story she supposedly had made these threats throughout her pregnancy that the county was supposedly aware of all the time but for some dumbass reason didn't act beforehand?

So in true journalistic spirit, the story got pulled from the front page website and disappeared.

She 'had' a public defender, but soon as the word got out she's got more lawyers on her side than a pharmaceutical company.

What would you have done had the state taken your kid on hearsay evidence?

Before, during, or after the nervous breakdown?

that shit is fucked up.... the lady has some 8 pound watermellon shape pushing out of shit shit that is the size of a peach, and when she screams bloody murder from the pain the fucking thing is giving her, they actually think she is going to follow threw?

Oh things get more fucked up than that in NY State.

I've been getting reports of how the state, county can take your kids from you for several reasons that don't fucking make sense.

I guess there's a run on foster homes, courts, mental illness money or something.

If you get reported for abusing your kids, even if untrue, you end up in shit. Having to pay costs of them being taken, then court shit etc. Just on a lousy report that might be just an error!

If your kid acts up in school like a fight or doesn't pay attention, they can force you to discipline the kid with drugs or removal and if you don't comply they take the kid anyway and throw your ass in jail and put you on drugs and shit. It's sooo fucked up!

I can't believe it. It's like happening at an accelerated rate and people are getting pissed off.
