Jury Duty

Has anyone been called for jury duty? One of my friends just got another letter to serve. This is her third time so much for randomly selected. If you served on a jury how long were you away from your job? Just curious.

I was selected a few times, only had to serve once... I missed a day of work. turned out to be a pretty cool experience

Had to show up when called for like 2 weeks. I was called like 5 of those days in which none i got picked for a jury. So it was a big waste of time cept for the small small check i got for it :(

They keep sending me letter, and I keep sending back excuses of why I can't do it. I'm due to serve in June.. time to find another excuse. :)

jhauser.. mindoza hit the nail on the head right here. Sometimes you go in and get refused right away if one of the attorneys don't like you for the jury. Other times you get selected and it could be a simple case that lasts a day or 2 or a big ass case that lasts a long time.

Does your friend live in an area where any high profile cases are getting tried soon?

That would happen to me with my luck have to sit for a trial that would take a year. The next Michael Jackson trial.

Never been called for Jury Duty, in our country I think its only certain people from certain jobs who get called.

axelcat 05-05-2004 09:13 AM

jury duty is nasty
