HP 2410 Printer, A Nightmare!

I got one of these today and heard the horror stories about installation but never thought it would be this bad. The software which takes about an hour to install is ridiculous. I have already had to uninstall this software twice which takes about 40 minutes. I am doing everything exactly as instructed but it is still not installing all the software. Anyone else have one of these or can recommend another printer?

Thanks,
Mark

A good printer is hard to find. I had a friend who works at one of those printer cartridge recycling places recommend one to me a couple years ago.. and I bought it off ebay. The model number sticker is long gone though, or I'd say what it is. It's a canon.. :)

Great printer.. built like a tank, weights like 15 lbs, and printer cartridges are extremely cheap.

Did you do a minimal install or full? What kind of system are you on because that is super fast. This printer has got some horrible reviews by many people on cnet etc about installation. I know my way around a computer very well too so I couldn't imagine someone with little computer knowledge installing this printer correctly.

I got an awesome deal on it and I thought since I know computers very well it wouldn't be a problem. I can't believe this installation takes 750mb.

Yeah, i figured out a long time ago... no matter how much you think you klnow about computers, you probably don't know shit about peripherals... lol

I've got an HP printer I paid like $400 for that can't even "center on page", and god forbid you actually TOUCH anything you print or you'll end up smudging the fuck out of whatever you printed...plus the massive amount of margins it seems to require for no apparent fucking reason.

finally said fuck it and just bought a $99 epson that prints shit so nice, i nearly exploded in my pants after the first borderless 8x10 landed on the tray.

For general office work get the Epson C84. Fast and perfect output - text and photo.

For high end photo printing get the new Epson R800

1.5 picolitres droplets (which is amazing)

8 Ink Cartridges (gives you gorgeous photo prints)
