Higher Education is for suckers!

It's just an expensive social life, or a lonely waste of time going into debt. A true business person will become wealthy and reach millionaire status without a college degree. It's kind of like saying "Go to college and you'll get common sense!" You can learn some skills, but you'll never be on the top of your game unless you're a natural leader. I hear things like "oh, i'll only hire people with a college degree" and "hs makes this much, college grads make this much, masters degree this much, blah blah lick my balls this much" and it's bullshit.

True, you don't need a degree or even a high school diploma to become successful. But it's just a nice thing to have, and you do actually learn many valuable things, even if they dont help you on your way to success. :2 cents:

About learning valuable things - you can do this without college. Reading on your own, researching what you want, things like that. And if you need to talk to people about things there's always clubs or gatherings in just about any area of interest. I think the best book I've ever read has been "The Millionaire Next Door." It's a great wealth of knowledge.

I read almost every night for about 30-60 min. Keeps my mind fresh and helps unwind from the day so I don't go insane in the membrane.

If you want to hire someone that has basic writing skills it's best not to hire high school dropouts. :2 cents:

Not surprisingly, it's usually uneducated people who say this.

You definitely don't need an education to make money or to be successful. But I also don't think that just because someone has chosen to educate him/herself, he/she is a sucker.

I left college after 2 years to go into business for myself. I had lots of fun but didn't feel like anything I was learning was going to be useful for being an entrepreneur.

I did and still do spend the bulk of my free time continuously researching and learning things. I guess I just do better learning when its exactly the stuff I want to learn and not university forced classes that had no relevance to me.

I do recommend higher education if you plan on going the corporate exec route or becoming a professional.

But if you want to be an entrepreneur its a waste of 4 years you could be learning in the school of experience.

Nothing compares to that.

I think edumaction is a good thing if you can handle the school stuff, I never could so I hire people that have. If you are book smart, more power to you. But I know lots of wealthy people that have not finished school or have continued it.
