This really sucks.
 

Just got a call from my friend Marty. He is in Germany. Seems while in Afghanistan, he had a heart attack. :(

Marty is not fat. He does not have high cholesterol. He had an allergic reaction to a medication they gave him, which caused his heart to accumulate fluid, which in turn, caused the heart attack.

Now, I didn't get to talk to him, just got a small, "Wolfie, I need to talk to you" on the voice mail. I had to call his wife to get the news.

I'm now worried sick. It may be that he's coming home this weekend if the Navy says he needs to go home for treatment. If that happens, I'll not be coming to ATL.

I'll keep you posted.

Thank you for the kind thoughts. He's the only real family I have, as far as I'm concerned. All I can do now is sit and wait until I hear some news one way or the other.

Damn. The flights from BNA to SEA are expensive on such short notice. :(
