What is a nice simple softwear program that can convert film files b(ie mpeg, avi, wmv) into a flash film?

you can do that with flash
has to be automatic?

as long as you're using Flash MX or later, it's built in.

Just import the movie into Flash & publish it. It takes a while to get the settings dialed for optimum filesize though.

fktup is right. You don't need anything. Flash Supports most movie types. You shoul be able to just import it into flash and drag in onto the timeline.
