Miss GFY: On what did you base your vote?
 

I didn't actually catch the details of the "mission" but I sussed out that it was based on creativity. I admit that when I initially scanned the thumbs, I almost took a pass...but curiousity got the best of me, and I was really pleased by most of what I saw once I took the time to look at the full-sized pics. It was not easy to pick my top five, and ultimately I went with my first reaction after scanning the ten or fifteen I'd picked as my favorites.

At first I felt like being a grumpy bitch and voting only for non-nude pics, but...well, stuff that. Plenty of the contestants produced some terrific non-nude shots, and plenty produced some extremely creative nude and semi-nude shots.

I voted based on the photos that I thought showed the best combination of creativity, artistry, and an understanding of the bizarre dynamics that define GFY. (Oh, shut up, I know it sounds pretentious. Bite me.)

I still wish we could have voted for ten, though...some great stuff.

This is the official assignment:

"WEEK ONE CHALLENGE: Send in a picture of yourself in front of anything that says the letters "GFY". Examples would be if you wrote the letters GFY on a steamy bathroom mirror and stood in front of it, or wrote GFY in lipstick on your stomach, etc. Contestants will be judged on creativity, the most creative picture will win $500. Pictures cannot be photo-edited."

Good question, Mishi. I assumed that most people based their choices on creativity, but it seems that a lot of people went with who they think is the hottest. Kind of sad for those girls who showed absolute creative genius, but chose not to show skin. The results of this competition were supposed to be based on creativity alone, but I should have known that would never happen on GFY.

I am so happy right now, I could fly!

I spent hours on that, I had to figure out lots of problems with the light ( there was a light leak that was showing my arm moving) and I had to hahahahaha upside down to not edit the pics...In fact, it would have been so simpler if I could have edited!!!

All the trouble was in writing the letters to fit the frame perfectly, and when writing in the air you cant see if you are writing on an other letter...gn! I did 35 exposures of 10 sec...2 hours with the setting

And I tried this pose too, that was harder cause I had to stand up fast and hahahahaha straight...I think I chose the right one though

Mishi, how creative do you have to be to pose nude on the freeway with a GFY sign in your hand?

The guys voted many times for that particular Miss GFY candidate. She was cute as hell, just not creative. Same goes for many who spelled out GFY on their bodies, the walls, etc.

I voted for creativity. When I looked at the pictures a second time, I discovered more and more original pictures. Some I liked should have been reshot because the pictures were blurry or too dark. If you really wanted votes, I would think you would keep taking pictures until you got a really good one to submit.

I couldnt tell how my pics came out till I got to the bottom of the mountain and drove 150 miles home and plugged it in the computer... I took about 6 pics.. but the yellow was disappearing into the snow...glad I had a tripod cam, brain and my own two feet and hands..lol. I would have been screwed if I were to depend on others to help me where I wanted to go.

The snow pic is classic! But it would have been THAT much more creative if you had flashed the camera, you know. :winkwink:

I voted based on originality, setting, how good the pic turned out and whether or not I thought it took any forethought on the part of the contestant.

I didn't particularly care about nudity one way or another, after all if you haven't seen so many naked pics by now that you don't really think they stand out in a crowd, I guess you're still new to the business ;)
