DarkBlue.com is running an SEO comp and you can win a sony 17" tft or an iPod.

You just have to be ranked #1 for a term at a specific date and you win.

They haven't announced the term yet, but I think I could spam my way to the top .. hey its free iPod!

Seems like shitty prizes for SEO work. I've made much more off of the engines to ever fuck with little shit like that.

i doubt you need to rank for "casino" to get the prize, id imagine it would be a pretty unknown keyword, and the traffic wouldnt be worth anything.

Oh ok, a term that has no previous ranking in Google. Sounds like an easy enough contest to win for whomever has the most resources.

yeah well that would be the only fair thing, otherwise what if no one else can get to the top and then the person currently ranking for the term (if it already had listings) wins?

looks like the prizes are for two things, the "player" prize pays out an iPod after like 1 month (aka the spam mofo prize)

and the "stayer" prize is like 2 months or something, that person gets the sony screen ..

No serious SEO would enter that contest...

In the best case you will lose, in the worst, you end up winning a shitty prize, and then get put out of business because 100s of webmasters will steal your secrets...

keyword is up, and the SERPs are in, looks like the guy over at SEOchat is #1, he bought the domain names ..

already heared about the contest...depends on the "word" becoming #1 for porn - would be difficult.

Its a good idea anyways.. I'm sure the real prize will be all the clients that will flock to the guy that wins. (assuming he sells SEO services)
