I'm still missing five key elements, but I am confident that the next time I go manic I will pick those up without hesitation. :winkwink:

sltr 05-03-2004 07:00 PM

looks good but the circular file needs to be emptied

tbabe 05-03-2004 07:01 PM

looks nice, real nice. Like a doctors office. You seeing any patients?

Anna_O 05-03-2004 07:03 PM

Nice office :thumbsup

But the old one had funnier descriptions...

J-Reel 05-03-2004 07:03 PM

All your art work looks the same.

Amputate Your Head 05-03-2004 07:03 PM

btw, the prints adorning the walls are from the Randy J. Braun Studio. Framed in Koa wood, and each one is signed by the artist.

(a product of my last manic state)

AMP That house looks like it's going for around 2million.

We looked at the house the other day for 300,000.00 and it had 1 bed 2 bath

Kick Ass Chat 05-03-2004 07:04 PM

Looks like a decent place to work Amp:thumbsup

Spunky 05-03-2004 07:14 PM

I've learned that being creative is not just your state of mind.... it is also not just your hacked version of Photoshop.... nor is it some bullshit persona, or fantastic spam deal for a discounted price.....

it's about your environment. It's about believing in what you do with no reservations and no limitations. It's about getting in tune with yourself and pulling ideas and thoughts from your mind that you never knew you had.

Of course, this thread is focusing on your environment, and I have nearly completed mine. A place where I can be at ease, enjoy my surroundings, and not complicate my mind with trying to improve it.

A new level of focus. :thumbsup

Real design is about growing.... individually as well as professionally and technically.

It is NOT sitting in some cheesy room, (or your bedroom or living room) with a $5 dollar K-Mart desk and a bottle of Jack Daniels and burning out a 'design' in 20 minutes, and scoring the fastest buck possible from whatever sucker you can convince THIS week.

And there are VERY few designers who are truly commited to the art.

Amputate Your Head 05-03-2004 07:20 PM

I believe environment is crucial.

Ice 05-03-2004 07:22 PM

Very nice setup man.... got room for me?

Serious where did you get the desk from. I have been looking for a new one and can't seem to find anything I like yet

stevecore 05-03-2004 07:22 PM

looks awesome man! i see the pics finally came in... looks ten times better.

Illicit 05-03-2004 07:23 PM

damn looks nice, and environment is definately crucial !

Amputate Your Head 05-03-2004 07:23 PM

I may not be the "best" designer on the block.... but I think we can all agree that is subjective in the extreme. Especially in our industry.

But I can guarantee I am the most organized, professional, meticulous, insightful, and absolutely dedicated to the art as anyone will ever find.

And I stake my very name on that. Day in and day out.

Babel 05-03-2004 07:23 PM

Amp, whats with the LCD travesty? You said you would never touch these things ...

LCDs have advanced to the point that they are useable.

And even with this overpriced Sony LCD, I still find it more blurry than a cheap ass $100 buck CRT...... but I gotta look at the overall picture. And overall, it's a better screen. The color is better, my compositions are better, and I'm seeing things I never was able to see before.

So yes, I am a convert to LCD 4 life.

AWW - Kevin 05-03-2004 07:29 PM

looks about the same :winkwink:

seriously looks good :thumbsup

Amputate Your Head 05-03-2004 07:36 PM

as for my five missing elements,

I've been looking at some hand carved Hawaiian tiki totems,

some Samoan war clubs,

a couple of relaxing chairs (but I can't seem to find them for anything less than $400 apiece right now)

some tropical flower arrangements

and some surf art.

(not on the list is the complete remodel of the office bathroom)

Earth Wind Fire Water - those are easy to pick up in a manic state, but where in the hell are you going to get her:

Good for you. BTW, did you get the house plants that you wanted? :) And will you give up your beef jerkey on line store that you order from? You said it once, but the search doesn't work with key words. :)

SoundMan 05-03-2004 09:07 PM

the best art is your beer wrapper-cooler :thumbsup
