It looks like A Superman movie is finally going to be made..

They are saying that it will be one of the higher budgeted movies f the next 3 years and will bring back the legacy of Superman back to the silver screen..

Tom Hanks will be staring as Superman, and taht girl form Lost in Translation will be Lois Lane.

tom hanks?? my dad and his buddies picked on him back in highschool. he's too old and wimpy to be superman. he doesn't have the muscular body for it. he might be a good actor, but you can't act buff like superman without the body

On the Superman dvd... the one with Christopher Reeves, it shows his audition tapes, and I must say.... he was way to scrawny and wimpy as well.

I mean, I thought he wasn't exactly buff enough as it was, but to watch the audition reels of the time before he worked out for the role, man... what a difference.

I smell BS. At one point they were talking about doing another Superman, to be directed by Tim Burton, but they were trying to get Nicolas Cage to be Superman. That whole thing got scrapped though.

Superman was already established as a Mid aged MAN in superman 1,2,3 and 4..

This is Superman 5. Its supposed to be an older Superman dealing with inner issues as well as traditional Superman obstacles..

boneprone where are you getting this info? I'm looking at sites like Aint it Cool and Dark Horizons and seeing no news about Superman today. You used the word official, but there's no announcement I can find.

Hanks as superman sounded odd to me at first but as I think about the different movies and the range of roles he's played I think he'll fit that big red S very well.
