They say it for a reason, & i just found out the hard way, i let mine go for more than 4 hours without taking a dose & my pain got way out of hand, like, almost screaming in agony bad, but i couldn't have screamed if i wanted to.
It seriously felt like someone had taken a rusty knife to my throat & slit it methodically & on purpose while i was sleeping.
The pain moved from just the surgical area to my ears, & my jaw now & i'm waiting for my medicine to kick in. I fear that it may not be enough & i may now have to see the doctor again tomorrow for a booster shot just to make it through the day.
Relying on synthetic opiods to manage pain scares the shit out of me, its how some of my favorite musicians & actors first got turned onto them, & eventually killed them. I can only pray this pain goes away quickly & never comes back again, & that my willpower after my treatment will send me straight to an N/A meeting afterwords to remind myself that this treatment is not a game to be taken lightly.
