I got the crap scared out of me on 3rd shift.

Since I don't quite make enough from websites yet I am still working at a gas station on 3rd shift 2 days a week.

I was there Saturday night. I had a guy park by the pumps and sit in his truck for 20 minutes then he came in. He was like 6'5" with black sunglasses, an ATF hat, black leather gloves, and a phone headset on.(not really weird but it is 3:30 am and totally dark) He looked at our cheap gift stuff we have for about another 20 minutes. He was opening the boxes and taking them out and trying them.(They were tools so I guess checking quality or something.) He finally chose a few.

Then he went and wandered around the store looking for something to eat. He took a muffin out of the bakery stuff and dropped it. I told him he could throw it away. He opened it up and tried some of it then tossed it. After this about 45 minutes he comes up and pays for his stuff.

He then opens the stuff at the counter. He asks me a if I have a knife. Then says never mind and pulls out this knife from his belt that looks like it is for gutting dear. That freaked me out. As he was doing this he was asking me questions about how many people were normally there on 3rd shift and if I worked every weekend. He then asked me to change some $5's for $10's. I saw him looking at the drawer out of the corner of my eye.

He finally goes out side again and gets in his truck. He sits out there for another 20 minutes with his lights on. I go in the back room and he turns the lights off. He then drives up with his door open and flashes me with the parking lights saying through the glass the lights now don't work.

He next gets a dog out of the back of his truck and starts walking it around the parking lot for 15 minutes. He puts the dog back in and gets back in the truck. I figure he is leaving so I in the back room again. I come back up to the front and I see this guy is out of his truck again and he has something in his hand. I look at it and it looks like a revolver. I almost shit my pants. He sees me and gets behind the door so I can't see him.

I get the cops number and go call them in the back room. As I am doing this another truck that was also there for about a hour and a half drives off. The cops get there and come and talk to the guy. The cop told me the guy said he didn't know the guys in the other truck.(I saw him go over and talk to the other guys) A few minutes later the guy come back in and says I only knew one of the guys in the truck then goes outside and start his truck again and turns on the lights.(he said they were not working) He then leaves since there are now 2 cops there. He was there for 2 and a half hours before he left.

That was one of the craziest things that has happened to me on 3rd shift. The person that came in on first shift said they would have called the cops alot sooner. What would you have done?

Sounds pretty freaky man, one of the many reasons I like this business, is working alone.

This is why you own a gun. this is why you wear a vest. This is why you carry bear mace. these are the things that will save your life. He obviously was just playing games with your head.

I don't get it. There was no climatic ending. It can't be a story without some sort of climatic ending. :(

Even if you have to sprinkle it with fiction in order to spice it up, do it. It was a good story and captured my attention and then it just ended. It was like getting head from your girlfriend and right when you're about to cum she gets up and walks out.

You should get some sort of defense glass to stand behind. I've hard of some crazy shit going on at gas stations.

Is 8.00 an hr worth your life?

You should of called the cops sooner. That guy was there for way too long... and he was acting suspicious too. So did he just get away then? I would watch on my next shift. Guys like that will always come back.

Exactly. The only thing I would have done differently is hand in my resignation at the end of the shift.

Maybe it's time to start looking for a new part time job...

I only have to stay a few more months. After that I won't need it.

If that or anything worse then this happens again I will.
