How often do you cash your checks?
LOL, Honestly I get lazy. I wait until I have about 5 checks sitting there, then I say "damn I should really cash these.." So I usually go once a week if I'm not too lazy to drive down to the bank. :1orglaugh
|
i only accept wires... its easier to manage as myself, and my banks are all over the world.
|
Usually within a couple days.
LOL why the hell am I answering this? Who cares :2 cents: |
I have to mail them in, so I do that once I have 3-5 checks sitting around. The only time I'll mail one check is if it's really big.
|
like once every two weeks, I'm pretty lazy on that

anyways, i wouldn't recommend opening a Canadian US$ bank account. they suck and the fees are too high. check this out: http://www.tdcanadatrust.com/usbanking/checking.jsp it's what i use. the best part is you get a visa check card. you can use it anywhere visa is accepted (including ATMs) but the funds come from your account. like a paypal debit card. fees are $6.95 USD/month. you get unlimited transactions, internet/phone banking, no holds and you can get ACH deposits and wires. the only downside is you have to mail in your checks, but they give you prepaid envelopes. still, 3-4 business days is less than 25. tbabe, where in canada are you? |
I like wires:glugglug
|
once a week.
|
Not often.
I take the wire option or other alternative payment method whenever I can get it :) Cheques suck! |
I am terrible about cashing checks. I have 6 in my wallet now, and will get at least 3 more tomorrow . . . with a couple more the next day.
I usually go to the bank when my wallet gets too full with them . . . am getting close. |
Generally I'm good to deposit them once a week. When you receive 3-5 checks daily, it's a hassle to always go to the bank. Since my income exceds my bills, there's never a rush to deposit checks the second I get them. :thumbsup
|
Whenever I need cash! :winkwink:
|
yep collecting them too, and go there once in a month perhaps...the girl at the teller always looks a bit strange :)

|
Once a week is often enough for me!
|
2 times a month usually......I get 70% of my money to epassporte though.......

i do deposits twice a month

I get wire now or paypal.
I hate checks because here in sweden they take $25 fee for every check from USA |
I'd like to take this time to say Nasty Dollars kicks ass... And the people too... I found my first ever check about a month ago and obviously it had expired. They rushed me out another one 2 days later. It was only for $35.00. What a nice group of people.
Then some time last month I realised I didn't get my check for the pay period the day it normally comes, mainly I noticed it because it came about 4 days late in a FedEX envelope. So when I opened the envelope they had enclosed the original envelope too, I had screwed up my address when I moved and they took the time to track me down and send it to the correct one, then send the check via FedEX overnight. That is some customer care... Perhaps they were bought by American Express because they rock too... Anyway... I generally let them pile up for a while because the bank isn't very close to my house and it is the opposite way of everything else in town. |

I used to slack on depositing checks. My grandpa who owns rental properties and is a very wise man told me to always cash checks as soon as you get them. I would make fun of him for going to the bank every day. THEN a certain company had some issues and I had a 15k check that I couldnt cash. I was very annoyed and had to wait for several months until the issues were cleared up but it was my own damn fault for being lazy.
So the moral is....listen to my grandpa! |
Usually after getting them in the mail, my office looks like Task Force 21 uses it for MOUT training, so if I left a check in there, it will get lost fast.
|
We use Epassporte
and love it :thumbsup |
As the banks charge a fee per batch of checks, I take them once per month. If I'm not busy, once every fortnight.
|
Once a month, most of my money comes with wires and I hate cashing checks

Only drawback is my Debit Mastercard wont withdraw from the US account and I cant get one that will. So I have to pay hosting fees etc from my canadian account and transfer funds over from the US account to even it out. Shrug. Oh ya, my checks arent held at all either. :thumbsup :winkwink: |
