Sometimes I feel like i am blindfolded

No matter what everyday i wake up and have to accept the fact that unlike most I will never have to go to "work." I will never have to answer to another man ever again for the rest of my life. Yet somehow I feel like everyday I am blindfolded. Calling me paranoid is an understatement, I don't even trust myself, but one thing that makes me the most nervous is how I am or what I am to become, because I know no matter what I do, no matter how hard I work, I can only be what I am. I have tried all night to figure this out, I have come to one conclusion. I should drink more, and post more. Period nigga.

bottoms up if you read that.

Sometimes I wakeup when my kid is with my ex, and its dead quiet and feel like I never was really married and I never had a son and that it was all just a dream. Really freaks me out for a few seconds.

One of the best w r i t e rs who never gets the credit deserved:

Cameron Crowe

Who else can claim such masterpieces as "Fast Times At Ridgemont High, and Vanilla Sky"

Shave off the 80s nostalgia, and read this,, Cameron has the same nightmares I do. He compiled them and made Vanilla Sky, he doesn't get the respect he deserves.

Another thing that trips me out. I'll wake up from a bad sleep and think I hear my father's voice waking me up and to come down for breakfast and I think omg he's still alive, he didn't really die and then I realize it's just my imagination. (He died 17 years ago of a heart attack.)

:(

Ironhorse 05-02-2004 11:56 PM

I spent saturday with my kids, played raquetball, had lunch, saw a movie, had dinner at Red Lobster, during dinner my 7 year old asked me if I was my own boss. It felt great to say: yes, I have customers that I have to listen to during the duration of the project, but otherwise I am the the boss of me :thumbsup

Cheers :glugglug

Cameron did win an Oscar for best screenplay, not that it means much these days the way those awards are.

I fuckin loved Vanilla Sky. So many profound quotes from that movie.

I'll tell you in another life, when we are both cats.

Without probing, let me say, I have nightmares every night, unlike normal folk like my girl, my dreams are horrible, the most violent visions. What makes me bring this up is, you visions seem to have the same flavor, meaning, someone very close to you, and their death taunting you, sort of fucking with you now that they are dead.

If I know anything about nightmares, it's the fact that they are safe. There is no explanation, but I too suffer from simply terrifying dreams involving very close family members, such as grandma or mom, etc. MY girl often wakes me because I will be shaking, sweating, making noise etc,... there is no explanation, it's simply the brain and manifestation of thoughts. It sucks, sometimes the visions are horrible, sometimes I think its brought on by the media, and the age old experiment of the maze and the rat. While the rat would spend his day trying to find his way through the maze, when he would sleep, his dream patterns informed us he was indeed retracing the maze in his sleep. He was acting out the maze in his dreams.

If a mouse can workout a maze in his sleep, there is no limit on what we can do in ours.

Think about it.

Death in dreams is a sign of change.

Your own death in a dream is a sign of change in yourself.

Umm...

Yeah.

Nighmares suck though.

MiLo 05-03-2004 12:44 AM

i have nightmares regularly. also dream about dead family members regularly. my dreams are so vivid and real, that i sometimes have trouble deserning them from reality, when i wake up in the morning.

also, a couple of times a year, i have a dream where i'm being held down in my bed, and actually do a sort of mental battle with another entity. i am completely awake during these dreams, and realize i'm 'dreaming' (don't think that's the proper term though)... these dreams are completely black ie no visual perception, and are on a purely physical/mental level.

KRL 05-03-2004 02:25 AM

I'm really starting to believe when we sleep our consciousness does indeed leave the body and goes out into other realities and dimensions.

Shits too frickin real to think all these dreams are just happening in our mind and that's the extent of it.

No way. Got to be more to it.

Death is not extinguishing the light,
It's putting out the lamp because the
dawn has come.

Dream on dipshit.

Death means nothingness.

Be a man and accept your fate, instead of a pussy who believes in invisible beings.

McKracken 05-03-2004 03:23 AM

my dream life is spoooky fletch!!!

I can "wake up" in the morning do the daily stuff you do... as the day goes ahead strange DARK things happen (like car accidents, tvs blowing up,shadows etc.) i will "go" for a nap cuz i feel tired...

later that evening i will get a call from a partner or someone else asking why i did no show up for some BBQ etc. I will tell... WHAT i just got home....

long story short I have been sleeping all day long!!!!!

I have ongoing dreams that continues for years.... with my dead dad etc.

only one friend knows my strange night life and ever since i was beaten up by 5 people and hurt my head it has gotten worse!
