My best advice (and it applies to any airline) I can give based on numerous long haul (10 hr plus) trips is:

1) If you are going economy/coach, try to get eggsit row or bulkhead wind0w. Often times they won't let you reserve it over the phone so show up like three hours early at the airport so you are first in line. I had an exit wind0w on a 16 hour trip last month and had both feet stretched out on the exit door bubble, It was fucking cool.

2) Drink half a bottle or so of Nyquill right before you board. You will be in lala land and sleep very easily.

BTW Iran???? I hope it is a family visit :glugglug

Best word of advice is to bookmark these pages...

Seat Guru where you can find the best seats to fly on, without the bulkheads or emergency exits where you can't recline, and where there is more leg room.

1st Class Sleeper, pardon the shitty looking site, but this is the best $50 you can spend if you can't weasel business or first class. You will want something like this if you ever get stuck flying with Aeroflot or Southwest. :1orglaugh

The Nyquil idea is good, but wait until you are at cruising altitude to take it. If your plane has to return back to the airport for an emergency, last thing you want is trying to stumble out of a flaming airplane half-asleep.
