What ever happened to TheFly?

What is he doing these days?

its amazing how many people have left the business but because they posted on this board people remember them.

i cant wait to disappear, i wonder how longer they will talk about me.

I remember he had a delux pass AVS on his thefly.net site, and was trading traffic, then he turned his site into that "Help The Newbie" thing and then disappeared.

i could hahahahaha a twisted screenplay combining this and the Whatever Happened to Baby Jane style movie script with theFly, would make for a funny movie.

thefly used to run couple of high traffic CJ sites. I remember trading with him 7-8k daily 2-3 years ago. His traffic was good, don't know why he closed his sites. He is actually the only person from GFY that I met personally. He is a cool guy. I hope he is doing ok whatever he is doing.

He found God and is now somewhere living in peace and solitude. That's all he wanted I believe. I talked to him last like late last year on icq, he seemed very calm. It was interesting. He may still be in Florida, he may not be. Who knows.

No no, Pete (a.k.a. TheFly) was just a Boneprone character. Boneprone even hired some guy (who actually runs a fishing store in San Diego in real life) to go to shows and show up as his character. It was classic, everybody bought it.

I know I haven't made much effort so far! "Adult" is just one small slice of the pie, but still a significant one -- I don't think anyone will disagree with that... This internet phenomenon is NEW and we're responsible for it because WE created it.

Our generation needs to put things into perspective and take some responsibility for the content... Not too many people talk about it in the open, but it's definitely a concern among some of the more influential and foward-thinking people connected to this business... but I'm not going to stick around to try to make an impact -- my vote is to just quietly walk away, take what I've learned with me, and move on to other things that are more rewarding for me... That's not to say I wouldn't consider producing compelling content that I was proud of... imagine if Star Wars was just a porno and hadn't made the huge cultural impact that it did!

In this business I have touched people's lives -- I have changed some people's lives completely -- guys that I got into this business... How I feel about that I'm still not sure, but what's done is done now and I'm moving forward... There's a lot more I can give to the world besides blind link scripts. So yes, I'm an idealist now 100%. I'd like to say a lot more -- but I won't. I the people on this board especially and I'm glad I had this forum to drop my 2 cents off on my way out the door.

I have a few ideas for some mainstream projects but nothing solid as of yet... I'm considering working with software in the areas of traffic/data visualizations, software patents, project management and design but I'm still in the brainstorming phase -- I may decide to move into another field entirely.
