if you went out and leased 5-6 packages of the best video and pics there is, and the company that you leased from rotated them for you.....very possible....and could end up being very nice.....if the content was primo shit..like dvd quality new releases and shit

If you bought a huge amount it would work, you would probably end up getting normal industry average numbers.

The problem is you would be spending way to much money monthly. You could just spend the same amount of money on your own content and retain better.

Trial to converts probably won't increase much either way though, if you run trials.

AC Movie Pass (is that still around?) was 100% plug-in, and it sold fairly well; it didn't hurt that the ex-avs gave sites with ACMP links preferential treatment, though.

Of course it's possible. If you're just a numbers cruncher you can do it. If you can make more than you pay your affiliates, you can even have empty members areas:thumbsup (watch out for chargebacks!)
