Protein

I am looking for some things to eat that are high in protein... I need some variety here. Anybody care to share?

sumz 05-01-2004 05:42 PM

Hmm, meat, egs

EscortBiz 05-01-2004 05:44 PM

Egg Whites (if you cant take the taste or smell go to www.eggwhitesint.com)

Meat (best in these days is bison meat) but any meat will do, steak etc.

Chicken

The best meal replacement is NitroTechs ready made 45g shake.

ok here is a site, it sucks dick but the entire store theme is based on high protien

look at the menus

and yes i know the site sucks

http://www.fuelhealthfood.com

tical 05-01-2004 06:23 PM

all meat has protein

but better chicken and steak cuts would be

top sirloin / flank steaks (even strips and filets are ok sometimes)
chicken breast

if you want a real good chocolate milk (only 2g carbs) try that carb cutters milk by a company called "hood". they use whey isolate in there... 13g of protein per serving

xNetworx 05-01-2004 06:29 PM

Just drink a protien shake after you eat a meal

Monk 05-01-2004 07:46 PM

yeah, I am already drinking a protein shake or two a day... I would like some solid food for the other 3-4 meals / day

Ic3m4nZ 05-01-2004 09:42 PM

SS396chevelleSS 05-02-2004 05:01 AM

Open wide for a huge load of WM protein

C_U_Next_Tuesday 05-02-2004 05:05 AM

beans:thumbsup

Platinumpimp 05-02-2004 05:11 AM

After I have worked out I use whey proteins Twinlab Nitrofuel, its one of the best high quality proteins on the market(www.twinlab.com)

Goose 05-02-2004 05:14 AM

fish and loads of eggs ;)
milk is great, too!

gwilkins 05-02-2004 05:19 AM

Chicken breast (toaster ovens are good)
Canned tuna (yuk)
Eggs (scrambled, hard boiled)

That about it for solid protein for me. If you spend too long cooking you'll never manage to consume enough calories to gain weight (if that's what your looking for).

tiger74 05-02-2004 05:22 AM

In the fareast countries they eat bugs, larvas, worms and scorpions. they are very high of protein!!! :repuke

Rob 05-02-2004 05:25 AM

I'm going out on a limb here but maybe Protein Powder and/or bars? They also have Protein chips and protein hahahahahahas now. Variety is the spice of life and there is no shortage in varieties of proteins out there.

xclusive 05-02-2004 05:31 AM

Don't forget to take a shit before bed it will help your body process the protien if you aren't clogged:thumbsup

angeleyes 05-02-2004 06:05 AM

Protein Ice: (Fruit Punch Flavor) One bottle has 40gms of whey protein. I drink 2 a day. I just picked up a few cases from GNC yesterday---good stuff.

There is also Extreme Body by ABB with 50 gms per bottle but it tastes so nasty I gagged every time I drank it, so I do NOT recommend it.

If you drink those with high protein meals like chicken, lean beef, etc you'll be good to go. My trainer told me that you have to take in "atleast" one gm of protein for each lb you weigh if you are trying to gain muscle mass or are on any type of work out program. :winkwink:

if you wanna have some protein shakes be sure to get the Syntrax Nectar tub... it tastes awesome and it's 0 carbs/ 0 fat

:2 cents:

mrniceguy 05-02-2004 07:09 AM

I agree about the one gram of protein for each pound you weigh... per day.

BUT I have also heard the body cannot process more than 40-45 grams of protein at a time and that any more in one meal is wasted. I have heard this from several sources.

AllisonWonderland 05-02-2004 09:41 AM

Also, excess protein turns to glucose.

Vitasoy 05-02-2004 10:13 AM

This is what I try to eat.

chicken
turkey
lean meats and beef
fish (just about every fish is high in protein, anything from tuna fish, to salmon, to shrimp)
egg whites

cayne 05-02-2004 11:56 AM

I'm buying it. 5kg package. our body need ~3g x kg weight.

-> 80kg person needs daily ~240g protein (of course only if want to do some bb...)

kemp 05-02-2004 12:11 PM

Fish has the highest protein in meats. Try eating scallops, those fuckers are loaded with protein - too bad they taste like horse urine.
