Just a question buddy. Just a question.

I`ve heard that Australia might be allowed in in the next 5 years. So why not Canada?

And no I`m not on crack... I have a big crack...Shit it`s fucking gigantic! But I`m not on it.

Pain in the ass.

samuel 05-01-2004 08:22 AM

who knows.. I think logically it's only for european countries at this time... but in the future maybe some other entities should join in some way..

where have you heard about australia? 5 years is so close in think...

The stupidity on this board is sometimes just too much.

painintheass 05-01-2004 10:16 AM

I did a bit of digging.
Not as dumb of an idea as I had thought.

Check this out

And I like this part.

Canada and the EU ... an important relationship
Canada?s economic and political relationship with the EU is comprehensive and longstanding - in fact, in 1976, Canada became the very first non-European nation to conclude an economic cooperation agreement with what was then the European Economic Community (EEC). Over the years, the Canada-EU relationship has been strengthened by a host of other agreements in areas such as education, customs, competition, science and technology, and nuclear matters.

Today, the relationship between Canada and the European Union represents a shared vision in many areas. Whether in the fields of industry, science and technology, arms control and disarmament, Northern cooperation, global trade policy, agriculture, environment, forestry, immigration, health, culture, federalism, police cooperation or intelligence sharing - our approach involves a vast and active network among Canada-EU counterparts.

Today, Canada looks to the European Union as an exciting place for trade development and our trade relations are rich and diversified. The European Union represents Canada?s second most important trading partner - our annual two-way trade in goods and services is over $78 billion. Canada?s direct investment in the EU has grown substantially over the past decade reaching over $100 billion ... in fact, just surpassing EU investment in Canada.

Perhaps if NAFTA continues to be a "One sided deal." .... Who knows?

Well I do admit that I`m very pro-european. But damn this part just made me wet.

By combining the benefits of EU membership with those of an enhanced relationship with Canada - a G7 country representing one of the most successful economies in the world and a natural transatlantic bridge - both Europe and Canada stand to win by working together on many fronts.

East european countries are translated to cheap labor.

Australia and Canada will never be part of EU. Israel on the other hand has some chances.

Is it in your head? 'Cause that would make a lot of sense. :)

1. Israel is not in Europe
2. Do some more research. If it were to join the EU as 'cheap labour country' it would be ineligible, unless you count the heaps of East Europeans who go to Israel as guest workers. And you can get those without bringing the Jewish-Palestinian conflict into the EU. Which is another reason for why it would never be allowed to join.

1. Israel is not in Europe

I know that. They participate in many athletic european events though. USA wants Israel in EU. That's like half step.

2. The cheap labor wasn't a reference for Isreal, but for some of the countries they joined EU this month.

the only thing seeing I live in "vancouver bc" is that i pray that quebec/montreal would seperate from us then are goverment would run more evenly..they were threatning to leave and go on there own.. that would be wonderful as far as europe or any other countries being united with us hold on! this would be more like a takeover if you asked me.. I think we should remain the way we are.. long term keep the shitgames out..:winkwink:
