A couple of nights ago Bill O'reilly threatened to call for a boycott of Canada
...and its products if Canada does not immediately return the American deserters. Before someone says "who gives a fuck about what O'reilly says"...he has the largest audience for his type of show than any other and has millions of viewers. He called for a boycott on France and its products and contributed to the loss of tourists and sales of French products...that France has suffered.
While I am a viewer of O'reilly...I disagree with him more than I agree with him...but I am not against a boycott against Canada over this issue. |

i can see how the average adult webmaster boycotts Germany. He works like a slave for years to buy a metal box called mercedes. All of sudden his pride is gone.

That so called "boycott" of France was a joke.
It ended up hurting US companies :1orglaugh |

Besides, if the US really pushed through a boycot - the EU would start increasing internal trade to compensate. Boycotts are not good for our economies anyway. You do know that the EU and US have the world's biggest trade relationship? |

Bill O'reilly's crudentials:
1. Anchor for the rag Inside Edition. 2. Got his ass kicked by Al Franken. Bill O'Reilly - Good Morning America - 3-18-03 -- "And I said on my program, if -- if -- the Americans go in and overthrow Saddam Hussein and it's clean, he has nothing, I will apologize to the nation, and I will not trust the Bush administration again." |

Oh yeah, we do live in a global economy as well, so boycotts are very difficult to enact against the majority of multi-national companies.
Most multi-nationals employ many ppl across many different geo-political sites. etc. So, as much as any boycott hurt "the french" it was likely to hurt their U.S. distributors, shipping co's and other marketing partners. I think the "Freedom" Fries name switch is a nice little parable for boycotting French products. Who can deny the boycott's success in destroying France's long monopoly over the culinary invention of fried pieces of potato? :glugglug |

I listened to the show in question. He talked about it what if, not sure it was a true threat.
He also said he would never do that because there are so many good people in Canada. |

I agree with the boycott!!!!
Perhaps then Canada will be forced to diversify its export portfolios and stop being so damn dependant on the United States as a trade partner. I wonder if Canada could join the European Union? Pain in the ass |
well so much for freedom of speech - if we disagree with the USA then communism spills out and we get threats.
democracy allows for the freedom to say, "NO"!!! and both canada and usa soldiers have died together to give us that right. Its a bullying tactic. both countries would suffer - USA especially if they do this with other countries |

Clown, go get your unemployment money and food stamps.
You think Bush is going to listen to a loser like you, or a tosser like O'Rielly. If O'Reilly was preaching an anti war message you would be busting his balls accusing him of trying sell something. :321GFY |

I love O'Reilly. He's absofuckinglutely hilarious. Did you ever notice that when he has smart guests they look at him like he's out of his wig while they are being interviewed.
They will start a sentence that is always interrupted with, "Yeah but look, we both know the real reason behind... is... blah blah... and I will not tolerate this going on... blah blah blah... I ... I... and I... I... But..." The guest says, "Bill I don't agree..." Next thing you know he/she gets cut off again by Bill with a, "We've run out of time thanks for coming. Next up, your email." :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
hey, tell o'reilly Canada says eat a dick.
