Most new members will say yes, most old time members will say no... Just wait till they start adapting all the stupid EU rules.

Most of EU regulations have already been put into action in new member states. Reforms were needed to even be able to join.

Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia

With most of this new workforce willing to work 60 hours/week for a loaf of bread, you can wave goodbye to a few thousand jobs over the next few years LOL

Productivity i in each of those countries is much lower than the EU average so it will not be that dramatically. Don't forget that the market has increased today.

DaLord 04-30-2004 03:52 PM

Well the new countries will most likely be happy because they get a big bucket of money from the old nations. But when the party turns into hard work I bet Poland and the rest will bitch like hell. I'm all for the new countries... if they don't start acting like kids.

Turkey is one country that will never get to join and they try so so so hard.

Turkey would cost the EU so much money it just isn't funny anymore.

Besides, only a tiny part of Turkey belongs to Europe.

Not all new member states will receive large sums of money from the EU.

For example : Slovenia will be a net contributor to the EU.

Most foreigners have no idea what the Czech Replubic is like.

I have visited the country several times and it has all the modern facilities you can find in "richer" countries.

It is definitely NOT a backward country.

Well at least you can see the funny side, a good start I think.

Entering the EU means that we can now laugh at your expense :)
