You have to admit that the dude was caught up in the whole hype when he joined the Army...Hell, I have absolutely no desire to be in the military but when all that 9/11 shit popped off, even I considered going down to the recruiter.

He felt that he would be serving his country by fighting but he didn't realize that he was serving his country by ENTERTAINING them....

Would Robin Williams (when he was younger) quit his lucrative comedy career to go fight? Hell no...He gives charity concerts to the troops to help their morale...

Helping lift someone's morale is VERY important...He should have stayed on that football field.

Tillman didn't have "Rambo" fantasies. He joined to Military because his little brother was there and he wanted to be with his brother. They were in the same Ranger Company.

I agree he is no different then any other soldier over there. They all are heros. But he was in the lime light as a ball player so it did get media attention.

Bottom line is if your in the Army Rangers your an aggressive crazy mother fucker to begin with. They are all hyped up and unique in many ways. Many veterans I have spoken to say your born to be in the special forces. If that was Tillmans calling so be it.

Wrong. Pat Tillman left the NFL, and his brother left a minor league baseball career, to join the US Army. They went in together. Both of them were also able to become Army Rangers, which is very difficult (only about 25%-30% of those even allowed to apply manage to make the cut).

But you are correct in that the brothers were serving in the same unit.

Everyone in this country is entitled to their own opinion. That is what makes the nation so great - freedom.

But that kid who wrote the article can go fuck himself. That's just my opinion.
