First Arrests Made Under 'Can Spam' Act

WASHINGTON -- Federal authorities are filing the first criminal charges under the government's new anti-spam legislation.

Federal officials have announced the arrest of two men in a landmark case from the Detroit area.

ANYONE can make bank with spamming.. i was doing it in grade 10 when i was 15 years old. Fact of the matter is, it's illegal, annoying, and costs companies millions of dollars a year.

Anyone that uses spamming as a marketing method does it because they don't have the skills to do anything else, and give this entire industry a bad name while they're at it. There are reasons credit card companies are so hessitant to process for the porn industry, and ignorant spamming fucks are pretty high up on that list.

If the spam continues eventually email will no longer be usable and everyone will have to just talk via IM, until that is so spammed that it is unusable.
Many customers don't even get my email because of bullshit spam filters because of spammer fucks.
Spyware/Adware is worse though.

They're all local to me here in Detroit. The news actually showed video of the three homes they lived in and they're all up for sale or lease.

Some of you need to reread WHAT they were spamming... a fraudulent product. Under several names. The last time I knew, telling someone product X will produce results Z is illegal unless it DOES it.

Spammers are a big enough pain... let some clown like these guys KILL someone with their bogus products and see how tight things get.

The charges specifically referred to the weight loss patches being tested and bogus. (Penis pills are still out with the jury)

But they have seriously cracked down on weight loss scams so no doubt this added to the reasons they went after these guys in particular first.
