So While in Amsterdam some Bastard steals My plane ticket....

For the return flight. I should know better, but I left it in my jackets inside pocket in the hotel. It dissapeared from there. I was lucky I noticed it the day before departure, so I could make appropriate arrangements. Still they charged me 100 Euro for replacing it (166.30) cdn , which pisses me right off. The Ticket has no real value to anyone else, so whoever stole it ended up with a worthles piece of paper:BangBang: :BangBang:

Sly_RJ 04-29-2004 10:46 AM

I don't think I've had a plane ticket in 8 years. E-tickets are the way to go...

E-tickets aren't as common for international flights.

dropped9 04-29-2004 10:48 AM

I wonder if the jerk realized it was worthless...

Really? Hmm... I've only been to Mexico, so I wouldn't know.

Firehorse 04-29-2004 10:50 AM

We had a similar experience when we were returning to Australia from LA. We had to purchase a replacement at LAX, but they ended up charging us hardly anything for it.

I know about E tickets and do use them , But last year when I was flying over to Europe, the Airline went on strike. I was fortunate enough to have a paper ticket , so they had to put me on another flight. The Other 250 people with E tickets were not so lucky, they were sent home and told to come back next day. So there are advanteges to both sytems:2 cents:

smack 04-29-2004 11:22 AM

i'd be waiting for him at the baording gate with a louisville :winkwink:

Yes they do , and they ask for a passport when you present the ticket as well.

Rhino22 04-29-2004 11:26 AM

That's bullshit that they charged you for it....I think there is an insurance you can buy for like seven bucks more so that if you do lose it or something like that, they will replace it for free...

Easton 04-29-2004 11:29 AM

dayum that sucks JFK... :ak47:

It pisses me off about the 100 e , but it could have been worse, They could have made me buy a new one way ticket, if I didnt have the right info to give them, I was fortunate that the travel agent kept a copy of it with all the info. According to her it would have cost me around 3k for a ticket back .

NO I did NOT Lose it......and where do you find a 500 ticket at the last minute ? In Order to get any deal, you have to book at least 7 days in advance :2 cents:

reynold 04-29-2004 07:32 PM

I'm sure the guy who took it will have the shock of his life if he shows up at the airport at all!

MichaelP 04-29-2004 07:40 PM

Expedia: next day flight 1100 USD
www.schiphol.com: 900 euros
That is, if you need to fly to Montreal...

Just to quote myself: have you ever though about booking just a RETURN ticket. That would be like, 650 bucks. Then what you do is call in sick for the return flight, or just don't show.

Goose 05-02-2004 02:26 PM

alreay thought about having lost it?
nobody steals plane tickets, unless his name is coincidentely the same :)

I definetly know, that it was in my jacket pocket, and i did not lose it. The 3 K was quoted to me by the travel agent. 900 euros if I could have gotten it, is 1496.70 cdn dollars, any ways I am back :winkwink:

TurboAngel 05-02-2004 03:16 PM

Glad you're home, if I were you I would bug the airline about the cost of it. Like you said it was left out but they shouldn't have charged you that much. IMO

Well, it's good to hear you're back! What would we do without your pics :D

But if you ever have the same problem ever again, you'd better buy a return ticket online hehe....WAY cheaper
