Can love conquer all problems in a relationship or are there some things that love just can't conquer?

What if you're with somebody right now, and then you fell in love with another person? Doesn't loving the new person conquered the love that you had with your current gf?

Ok, that makes sense now. However, I don't think it answers my question. This is within one relationship, not invovlving third parties. But it doesn't matter. I know it does.

shortbread - as far as i am concerned, that is the definition of love. I am NOT religious - in fact i HATE religion, but there is one good part in the bible about love.

i burned all my bibles years ago, so i dont know the passage - im sure we have a bible thumper here somewhere that can quote it - and all that matters is that YOU believe it. I happen to know it's true, for me.

I would like to think so, but my wife keeps saying that love can't conquer all, we are still in love after 14 years and 2 kids but been separated for a year and a half ( I left ), heading for divorce at the moment. I guess you can only keep hoping..

nah what i mean is if all you love is money, you're probably an unhappy miserable fuck. me personally i gotta love some good friends, love life, ... and love only conquers all if you believe it will. i dont want to split hahahaha hairs here, but many people have a different idea of what love is. although i am against all forms of religion until those fuckers start paying taxes, i think there is a good definition of love in the bible. and i am agnostic - i just see it as a good definition.
