Would You Use A Sponsor Who Didn't Take VISA?

Posted for shits n giggles, but it's an interesting question. if there was a sponsor that looked really good, paid well, had good features, etc. but did not accept VISA, would you consider using them? Feel free to explain why you would or would not.

ace0r 04-28-2004 10:59 AM

It would depend on the niche and what payment alternatives they had. I think in the long run we'll have to get used to not taking Visa so I'm open to trying new things.

never ever ever

Sly_RJ 04-28-2004 11:05 AM

There are so many good sponsors around these days, why bother?

cherrylula 04-28-2004 11:06 AM

If the site was really good and of a good niche, sure.

Not like it would have to be a main sponsor or anything, but if it was something I look for I would definitely use them.

And if they started converting good, I would use them more. As long as its not like just another blowjob site or something boring.

Fuck visa.

I wouldn't. The majority of card holders use Visa. By not accepting this specific card you eliminate a lot your potential clients. If the reason of not accepting Visa is financial it's obvious that the paysite owner is not in position to provide a members area that would retain members and maximize my profits. If the reason is something like boycotting Visa the paysite owner shouldn't waste his time on affiliate program at all. In that case I would tell him to re-evaluate his position.

Why? Let's say Visa pulls the plug tomorrow. Now what? If you already had some non-Visa sponsors in place you could sit back and laugh at all the dorks on GFY that were crying about losing their entire business.

This is not something I'd jump into with both feet but there is no harm in testing the waters. I've always felt that if a guy wants to get into a site bad enough, he'll do just about anything he has to.

nope :(

I would consider promoting just if it looked great. After a few hits sent I would see the results and drop or keep it.

axelcat 04-28-2004 11:09 AM

visa is the #1 used card in the world

tbabe 04-28-2004 11:09 AM

no, without visa, your losing sales, so i would just stick with sponsors that do take it.

VeriSexy 04-28-2004 11:11 AM

no way...

And it should have other payment solutions. Take just the other CCs no way.

Pornwolf 04-28-2004 11:16 AM

As Soul Rebel said, if you aren't setup for Visa you aren't ready to run a program. If there's someone out there that has a site that can't make them enough to pay the $750 it's not worth promoting.

what kind of logic is that? If Visa pulls the plug tommorow, you'll see a large number of paysites to stay in business using the rest billing options. They won't have to add them, they already use them. Running some test number is ok, but sending your traffic to a site with limited billing capabilities is not a smart business decision.

I pray visa pulls the plug. Mastercard too.

They are not the end all to this industy, or any other since people like to buy things regardless.

Yeah it would fucking suck and be a huge headache, but the way things are going its definitely wise to diversify regardless.

edit: its also wise to try and sell something a competitor with more billing options doesn't have :1orglaugh

if the paycheck is big, why not :thumbsup
