Rick Latona - What's the Dealio???

Consumptionjunction.com has been acting up the past couple days! Some days I can't even get it to load - getting a lot of error messages.

Help me, I need my CJ fix!!!! :(

That's the first I've heard about it. Is anyone else having problems?

It's been happening to me for quite sometime now. Sometimes it won't load, or get funky mysql errors.

Rick, I went back today and only got a handful of errors but was able to navigate the site. It did load slower than normal though.

Thanks for your attention to this matter. :thumbsup

Raven 04-28-2004 02:04 PM

Spoke too soon, Rick..now I'm getting errors...

msxml3.dll error '80072efd'

A connection with the server could not be established

/inc/tophead.asp, line 180

Rick Latona 04-28-2004 02:05 PM

On the bottom of the page you should see this:

code execution time: 66 milliseconds
server: 66.115.191.138

If you are getting errors can you tell me the IP address of the server you are on? It takes 30 of them to run this site.

Sharky 04-28-2004 02:19 PM

code execution time: 69 milliseconds
server: 66.115.191.135

I got this after I hit enter.

although the loading problems and error I got were on the first page.

It looks like you might have a server down in the loop or something

Yesterday we did have problems. We rolled out a new system that caches the pages in the RAM on each server. Frankly, shit didn't work. We rolled it back. That's all back to normal. We've been experiencing slow-downs today and we're trying to track down what the cause is. The occasional IIS reset seems to keep it from being too bad.

Raven, thanks for that post. That gives me some direction to look. We've been having VERY strange intermitent DNS erorrs and my guess is that is what's causing the problems everyone is talking about. Explains why some people have no problem and some do.

Everyone and anyone that feels helpful. If you get any errors (now or anytime in the future) on any of our sites, please email them to me at [email protected]. Please copy and past the URL you were on, the server ID number (bottom of the page) and any info about what you did to create the error.
