US Soldier Needs DigiCamera // Request IRAQI Shots
 

Hello Guys:

I have a friend who is getting deployed to IRAQ on May 15TH, and he's looking for a DigiCamera to take with him... Problem is his current budget is around $300.00 down.

I'm not really good at picking good low end Cameras as I don't have much experience with them, but overall the quality has to be good, and good for outdoor pictures also contain a pretty okay zoom lens...

Second problem is he wants something with reasonable space, so maybe 512MB -- 1GIG which brings down the cost of the actual camera significantly...

I'm here helping him search on ebay as I type this, so please throw your suggestions this way...

I have an old a40 laying around, but I honestly don't think that will do too good of a job (too easily breakable) But if anything I guess I will give it to him...
I personally use a 10D for all shooting needs, but I don't think I will ever part with it ...


I know a lot of you GFY guys are cam freaks, and content shooters so pop out those ideas ...

we are not paying him to go over there and be a fucking photographer.

we are sending him over there to killo irqis, if he wanted to be a fucking artist or a photographer he should have went to college instead of joining the military.

tell him leave the camera at hopme and go do what he is trained to do.

Gateway makes some good cheapos.. So does Kodak.

try and find an older HP Photosmart camera maybe.. i know those things take a beating, and are relatively inexpensive

and where, exactly is he going to unload the memory card over there?

I think thats why he want's .5 - 1gig. It's not like he's going to be doing 5MP poster prints on a crappy $300 cam.

im not a cam expert,but i think if not all,the majority of today's cams will get decent pictures, so mostly it's an issue of price/memory capacity.

Dont worry, that's part of the plan...

I allready asked him to shoot a few iraqis in the leg for me, and snap a few...

And I know we all are itching to see some tits at gun point :winkwink:
