First, children have never had and should never have full freedom of speech while at school. Can't let the inmates run the prison.

Secondly, my guess is the problem was with the drawing of Bush's head on a stick rather than the one with Bush as a devil launching a missile.

Roger 04-26-2004 07:12 PM

As Bush said: "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"
That's what this investigation is all about :)

Agreed.

TurboTrucker 04-26-2004 07:22 PM

You mean the Canada that wouldn't let the media publish information about the serial killer up there? Yeah real freedom.

Has nothing to do with Bush. It would be the same deal if it were Clinton's head on a stick or his teacher's or a classmates head. Simply not acceptable at school.

Dirty F 04-26-2004 07:23 PM

Its time for the Dutchies to invade the US and give you guys your freedom back!

Muffin 04-26-2004 07:25 PM

Wow! I don't really know how I feel about this......I think 15 year old kids are capable of a lot of things.....However, this teacher must have had strong evidence that these weren't just his feelings he was putting down on paper.......If she didn't do her due diligence first then I think she did a deplorable thing.

I dont agree. Actually I'm strong believer of the opposite

Roger 04-26-2004 07:32 PM

"Come on now kids, let's just all draw flowers, the sun and a home with a perfect family or else..." Now ain't that cute? :)

This was done so it wouldn't influence the jury, which was yet to be chosen, dumbass.

newsdude 04-26-2004 07:40 PM

The question is, where do these kids get all these ideas? School? TV? Internet? Papers? And who's to blame?

KMR Stitch 04-26-2004 07:40 PM

Figures it's near my house..

This is why our schools are fucked up. Too many adults consider it just a cage to house people until they are old enough to prosecute. Run a school like a prison, and students will act lke prisoners. Students are like anyone else; give them freedom of speech and allow their voices to be heard, or you will face more violent forms of expression. And at 15, some have minds more advanced than the average adult. Genetics determine your intellectual devopment more than birth date. Right now we have a generation of disenfranchised youth who are systematically disrespected in overly bureaucratic schools with screwed up priorities.

Sounds like a life sentence without parol in a police state for being so "unpatriotic" :winkwink:

Is this what the "Secret Service" actually does???

pimplink 04-26-2004 08:48 PM

They should put up some rules about being nice to the government people if they want none of those!

newsdude 04-27-2004 02:16 AM

Kids are no longer the kids they were supposed to be!

Your government hard at work....all in the warm fuzzy name of "Homeland Security"...

I don't buy into it. Homeland Security is the newest and most innovative way to take away your rights. Fuckers...

neewwman 04-27-2004 05:57 AM

I don't have a problem with what the Secret Service did. Once someone reports a "threat" then they have to "investigate" it to cover their ass.

It's the idiot art teacher who should be strung up naked from the school's flagpole and pelted with rotten fruit.

dready 04-27-2004 07:03 AM

Sometimes I sinisterly hope Bush wins again.
