Not going to happen.

The Dutch economy needs cannabis tourism. Clogs, tulips and windmills just won't cut it.

Long live the coffeeshops!

They're not DOING anything about it. It's all spin. Read:

"The Interior Ministry will work with towns and cities on ways to better enforce existing laws against the use of cannabis, including minimum distances between the so-called coffee shop cannabis cafes and schools."

"The government also decided to step up public awareness campaigns to warn against the dangers of soft drug use."

"The Health Ministry, for its part, will study the possible health consequences of soft drugs "

maybe so, maybe so.... but that's how it starts. A rock chip in the windshield, then tiny cracks, then bigger cracks, and pretty soon you got a busted windshield.

?We want to end all aspects of drugs tourism, the fact that people come to the Netherlands to use soft drugs or to take them home,? said Justice Ministry spokesman Wim Kok.

Looks like there going to do it like Cigarettes. Probably have the "surgeon general" warnings and dangers of irresponsible drug campaigns.

Other then that it looks like there not going to stop :thumbsup

I though the thread would be about Vancouver or "Vansterdam" as people call it. I don't think there is any other city in North America that has store-front marijuana cafes or gets as much tourism from people wanting to get high in a pressure free environment.
