i never thought fishers have that high rate.

PS. They forgot rappers.

stev0 04-26-2004 03:27 PM

haha, for sure.. i think rap artist should be somewhere up on the top of that list.

Shoehorn! 04-26-2004 03:28 PM

It would be fun to be a high rise hahahahahaha washer for a few days. I think you get hazard pay for that. :2 cents:

I belive that's commercial fishermen like the ones that go out in Alaska using nets and dealing with ice cold, wind, rain fatigue, getting washed overboard, hands and arms frozen or severed.

Discover channel did a show about them. Good stuff.

I know the Alaskan King Crab fishers have an insanely dangerous jobs.. i can't believe they arent number 1 on the list.

I heard that being a convenience store clerk was a dangerous job.

I heard that being a convenience store clerk was a dangerous job.

because there are not that many of them out there to be killed, and yeah, I am surprised no 7-11 clerks or taxi cab drivers are on the list

Odie 04-26-2004 03:35 PM

what are the stats for highest suicides??

I was told that dentists hold the highest suicide rate...it's b/c they come outta school and think they're going to make tons of $$ so they go into mad debt and then find out that they won't for a while so they kill themselves..

xxxdesign-net 04-26-2004 03:35 PM

Cops are not even in the list... Looks like truck drivers should get more credit then they do.... risking their lives...

Unfortunately.. risking your life for transporting marchandise is less glamorous than risking your life trying to catch the bad guys... you wouldnt call a truck driver from New York.. New York's Finest would you !? lol

Theo 04-26-2004 03:41 PM

in Greece i think we have as no1 the professional divers. Those that collect sea sponges. There's a small island called Kalymnos that a very large number of men get paralyzed or die because of the "diver's disease" every year.

dav555add 04-26-2004 03:41 PM

Damn, Timber cutters , now that's a high risk occupation, can't even imagine the type of accident that they must encounter :(

kush 04-26-2004 03:43 PM

Drug Dealer or Assassin (sp?) has to be the most dangerous...

They are the top jobs for on-the-job murders, this list includes accidents.

herbal logic 04-26-2004 03:45 PM

Polo players are up there... probably just not in list as its not really an occupation

I had a buddy that was a timber cutter and was killed. Got ran over by one of those huge trucks that haul full length trees.

He was a pretty careless guy, did not surprise me much when I heard.

samuel 04-26-2004 03:48 PM

fucking interesting..

fortunately I have nothing to do with fishing... well, sometimes my fingers smells like a fish.. but it is other story..:Graucho
