Who would think the original punk, Johnny Rotten, would pick boy band survivor Justin Timberlake to play him in a new film based on his autobiography?

The odd couple have met and Timberlake agreed to play Rotten as long as the former Sex Pistol stays away from the set.

Rotten, now using his real name, John Lydon, said he felt sorry for the former *NSYNC star for being "Britneyised" and had the green light for the Hollywood version of his book, No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs.

Thank goodness Oldman played Sid...at least they got a brilliant actor for that flick.

Honestly it doesn't surprise me...and I say this because Johnny might have done it because he feels he and Justin have a lot in common.

If you've ever watched any interviews Rotten has talked before about the Sex Pistols were one of the first boy bands...and by that he meant staged bands that were put together solely as a marketing tool and not because of some real artistic endeavor...he even claimed one time that's exactly what he meant by the question he posed to the audience "have you ever felt you've been cheated?"
