Hi

I might be able to offer advice, im of a 1 Handicap (and just to boast qualified for the amateur world championship in 2001).

If you are just starting dont spend too much on a set of golf clubs, when I started I payed 100 Pounds about 150 Dollars for a full set. The idea is to learn with the basics and then upgrade your sets from there, for example my complete set is now worth 1200 Dollars. Too many people pay a fortune expecting the clubs to do the work for them.

Good Luck With The Game

:thumbsup

No there not a good set, and I would not wast my money on them even if you are a beginner. The way golf clubs work is that you get a very large jump in quality if you spend just a little bit extra.

For example the clubs you are looking at might be around $300 US, however if you look at something around $500 you will get a noticably better quality set without spending too much. The cheap clubs have shafts that vary in flex too much from club to club, as well as having an inferior grade of steel in the head of the club. The end result is a dead feel when you hit the ball. The silly thing with clubs is that when you get up to the top grade of clubs you can spend well over $1500 US but that increase in price doesn't really translate into a such a big % in quality..

I am actually a golf pro, and sell many sets of clubs each week and would never sell one of my students a cheap set of sticks..:)

Ps, go to your local pro, and maybe have a couple of lessons and ask for his or her advice..
