I'm confused about about a Google issue.

One of my sites is listed as #1 (not including the top 2 Overture listings) on Google, but the PR is only a 5. Does that sound right? I am trying to find a correlation between the two factors, can anyone help me out?

BTW, this is a mainstream site.

Newbreed,
PR isn't a main factor in getting your site listed higher in S.E.'s. It does help but if you have a better optimized site, more links coming in than your competitors, and all that other good stuff you can easily be listed higher even if your PR is way below theirs. Also, is the search term your listed number one at very competitive?

OK cool, I'll stop worrying about that then!

The search cannot be done really any differently. The only two words you would think of to search for return those results.

It's hard to get porn sites over a PR5

PR and rankings have a relationship but its not direct. For example, I have a #1 ranking on a keyword with a PR0. Granted there's nearly no competition on this keyword.

OK, I'm thinking I'm just not gonna mess with anything at this point. I was looking at some ways to garauntee placement but spending money at this point for paid listings might be foolish.

Thanks everyone!

Bill
