Whats the highest PR you've seen on a porn site?

I see PR 6 on some sites mostly link lists like Jays xxx links, hoes.com etc.

Just wondering if this is as high as a porn site can get and if anyone has seen better?

Jdoughs 04-24-2004 11:31 AM

As far as i know they arent governed in any way to do with PR...i also saw many PR6's..i dont recall seeing bigger but im sure there is somewhere...Id like to see them if any just to see them

Jon 04-24-2004 11:34 AM

Same. Although this was back when the Florida update was recently done and quite a few TGP's went up to PR7/8's. They've come back down to 4-6 since then though.

The backlinks are over 400,000 but none of the actual pages have links to this site. Most interestingly, lots of links from Yahoo's privacy policy pages. Very interesting how he got links from Yahoo like this but they're nowhere to be found and not in the cache either.

Nevermind what I wrote above, the PR that they're showing isn't actually for billyspervwebsite.com, it's the PR for yahoo.com. Take a look at their DMOZ listing (by clicking google's directory button from the toolbar). It goes to Yahoo's directory: http://directory.google.com/Top/Comp...ctories/Yahoo/

And based on the 400,000 backlinks, all the backlinks are really going to Yahoo.com. So essentially, this domain is actually showing the PR and backlinks to yahoo's domain, not billyspervwebsite.

You can also tell by going to any other page on this domain, nothing in google and no PR for all other pages. Not to mention their cached page goes straight to Yahoo.com :) (http://64.233.167.104/search?sourcei...m%2 Fhome.php)

I checked and I found that google treats this page exactly as it treats yahoo.com . look here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...m%2Fhome.ph p

any explanation on this?

See the reply I did to my post above...
As for explanation, all it takes is a redirect to the target domain (yahoo in this case) to do this affect. A simple googlebot detection script with the redirect can accomplish this. The "actual" PR of this domain is definitely not 9 though.

blackmonsters 04-24-2004 01:01 PM

Would any of you guys buy a PR for a certain search term?
If so which terms and how much would you pay.

I never thought of it before.

No, the PR that is being shown is that of Yahoo's.

But it seems to me if it has been confused into thinking that the site has the same backlinking as Yahoo then wouldn't it be safe to assume that it associates the same keywords to that domain?

Anyone coined a phrase for this yet? How about "PR Jacking"

pornstar2pac 04-24-2004 01:45 PM

I have my domains at PR11:thumbsup

Do a search on Google for the site name: billyspervwebsite http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...lyspervwebsite

They're not even in top 10 and they supposedly have a PR9. This technique is obviously not working in their favour.

Is it not correct that the site has a 9 due to redirection, but now on the next pass the PR should drop.

In the meantime, until the next pass, the site can enjoy all the traffic that is coming.

Also, by just redirecting to Yahoo wouldn't give you a PR 9

Thats your Page Rank (PR) its is the value that Google puts on your site, sort of

If you mouse over the toolbar and it says 3/10 then you have a PR of 3

Theoretically the higher your PR the better - it means that google likes you = more traffic

RK 04-25-2004 12:01 AM

The site is not getting any traffic because of it but they could do very well selling links to those who didn't notice the yahoo thing

Exactly... most people fail to realize this. Not a bad way to sell some high PR links though.

raster 04-25-2004 05:50 PM

If I took one of my non used domains with PR0, redirect it to Yahoo and get it listed in google, it will go to a PR8 or PR9?
