Anyone Just Up & Leave??
Have any of you ever done that? I did it once before and now seriously contemplating it again - tell your experiences.

Think she must be talking about b/f /gf.
:Graucho |
Yup, I did once 2 years ago... I was with a chick, I found a better one, and just upped and left.
It happens :2 cents: |
When you know it's over, it is time to leave. :2 cents:
|
Never done it myself. I find it to be a very cowardly act. Had a husband who did it to me, though, (mostly because I couldn't deal well with his girlfriend), and he took everything, including our son. :feels-hot

Regular jobs are over-rated.

Whys it cowardly?
I didnt run away from my problems... I found something I liked better, so I took it. :2 cents: |
Yep, my ex cheated on me, because he seemed to think I was a groupie because I was hanging out with a band we went to see. Actually we were talking and getting stoned but the next night he didnt come home. The day after that I hopped on a bus from AZ back to NY.
Oh and he found out I was leaving through a message board, and tracked me down to the bus station. He was crying, but I said bye anyway. Oh and it made for a very amusing 25 page thread. |
I moved from NC all the way up to NJ, the next day he was on the phone begging me to come back.
I didn't thank goodness or I would have never met the best guy around, Turboface! :winkwink: |
Leavin on a jet plane, don't know if I'll be back again..........
just leave the guy a little weed so he can get over you quicker...:) |

i've up and left my home, went on vacation and never came back :thumbsup

one time i just up and left my computer and went outside.. it was exciting... i miss days like that

It can be a very cowardly thing in certain cases.... like the guy who waited for his girlfriend to go off to work in the morning, then he returned home with a buddy and a truck and moved all his stuff out and disappeared without notice, no chance for discussion, nothing. She's a pretty nice chick who didn't deserve that.
But it can also be a very smart thing to do in some instances. If you're at a point where you've tried to make it work but the person just doesn't give a shit about you or your efforts, if there is no respect coming back to you, if you're no longer happy.... then sometimes the right thing to do IS to get your ass in gear and just "up and leave". Why stay with someone who doesn't appreciate you? |
A cowardly thing to do.
Even if you found something "better" you still can have the common decency to let the other know. Or are you affraid you'll get a dose of reality? :321GFY |

You can up-and-leave and still tell the person you're leaving. Like I said, if you've tried everything to make it work but the other person just doesn't get it and never will, it's time to book it. Some people choose to stay and be a doormat, while others have the guts to know when to call it quits and move the hell on.
Sometimes it is actually a pretty god damned BRAVE thing to do. |

But, I guess it really depends on the individual experience....hard to judge someone else's experiences. |

it depends on lots of variables! :glugglug

I once had this clingy gf that followed me like a lost puppy everywhere. I mean anywhere I'd go, I'd turn around and there she was, she gave me no space at all.
So one day I figured out the perfect plan to escape. We went shopping at the mall. Told her I was hungry so we went to the food court. Ordered some food and sat down. Then I said, fuck I think I left my headlights on, wait here I'll be right back. I hopped in the car, drove back to the apartment and quickly threw everything I owned in the car and got the fuck out of town. I wonder if shes still at the mall waiting for me.... |
