Not being a smartass for a change, the reason I'm asking is because a friend of mind did something very similar. He was in a foreign country and rescued a dog but it didn't understand any commands. It was like training a new pup and it drove him crazy!

It is true my neighbor's dog only understands russian. it is a wild crazy dog too and other then a few words that will not help me the dog almost atacked me until my neighbor blurtted out something and he stoped dead in his tracks.

I think I need to learn some more russian
