Any other phone line providers then Bell in canada ?

I'm sick and tired of bell's shitty service . REALLY fuckign sick of it . I'm not giving them one more penny .

EVERYONE is with Bell . Is there any other service for phone lines (local calls and long distance) offered in Canada ?

oh man there are a few major ones

- bell mobility
- rogers at&t
- tellues
- fido

I think there might be a few smaller ones as well

I personally have rogers they are great for the reception and the phones not to say anything about the wiked phones. the personal service leaves something to be desired though.

NOT talking about cell phones . I'm talking about home phone lines

There's always sprint, primus, at&t, and i'm sure there's more but can't think of them at the moment

You're kind of hard up to find a CLEC other then the ILEC Bell in canada. EastLink providers local and LD dialtone to customers in the east to compete with Aliant (Bell's Atlantic division). In Quebec and Ontario, you're pretty much stuck with Bell unfortunately. Out west they have Telus competing with Bell, but central....you have to get a shitty wholesale deal thru AT&T or MCI which in reality uses Bell's gear just hits a different DMS Switch at the endpoint.

if you could find one id change in a second, i hate these fucking money grubbing monopolies...they suck ass hard

Sprint Canada offers local services at about 30% cheaper than Bell (compared to Bell's business rates). I use Sprint for local and long distance at the office and they have great bundles. I think I end up paying about $40 per month per line for 2 services (call answer, caller id), basic line services and long distance. Bell's business lines for basic services start at $45 I think. Only disadvantage with Sprint I found was their service is analog and not digital (most business phones these days are digital lines so I had to get a converter to get it to work).

AT&T is now Allstream and yes they handle home service in
atleast Ontario.

WG....unfortunately, I think that Sprint is limited to west of Quebec :) Right now the only local service we have in the greater MTL area is Bell. There was suppose to be a new local service starting in the core of the city, but I haven't seen anything with regards to a launch.

Sorry Doctor Dre....I think you're stuck on this one....if it's any consolation they drive me nuts too.

Actually, give it a try. I used Concordia's postal code and it said that all services, local, wireless, long distance and internet were available: http://webstore.sprint.ca/webstore/jsp/new_lookup.do

You might be in luck :)

you sure, I swear I heard one of my friend in MTL say he had sprint.

Bell has a monopoly... when you payfor sprint, who do you think THEY got the line from? you're still using a bell line...

I use bell, and some other company for l/d, 5cents a min anytime...
or might you look into Primus' VOIP

It is the same lines but the competition between companies creates the marketplace where the carriers compete for clients business.
