Yes, but they give you 1GB of storage and you are not forced to sign up...:2 cents:

that would mean technically... services like aol filtering your mails based on the message or url or link is illegal? they should in no way even know about it. but they do becuase they are reading the contents of what you sent to the person without your allowing them to.... this law doesn't say anything about human eyes reading it or computers... right?

yea its just another privacy concern, i understand what they are trying to do by adding more targeted ad's to the free email account but well..

really ? damn.. sounds like a good defence if one of them is trying to sue you for spam.

They will not "send" you ADS and they will not read your e-mail, a script will scan words in your e-mail and show you ads based on those words in your e-mail. Its nothing bad about it.

You can only submitt your e-mail to them and let them inform your about something later...right?

same problem, how are blogger users being invited to beta-test gmail? do you have to set up the paid blogger account at $15 a year to get the gmail access..?

I dont like how they scan your email to give you targeted ads.

I dont intend on using it on important stuff , just thought it would be cool getting an email addy that would be taken at launch. Just going to be a muck around addy for me
