Attempt to kill Kim Jong Il fails

link.

SEOUL (Reuters) - Up to 3,000 people were killed or injured in a huge explosion on Thursday when two goods trains collided in a North Korean station hours after leader Kim Jong-il had passed through, South Korea's YTN television station said.
Seems like the CIA screwed up on that one.

The CIA has never had good timing - and never good death records.

LittleMack 04-22-2004 08:03 AM

Was it confirmed that this was a attempt on his life or a tragic accident???

Joesho 04-22-2004 08:04 AM

DR_PHIL 04-22-2004 08:05 AM

gornyhuy 04-22-2004 08:06 AM

I heard that there was a lightning strike in a small town just days after Kim Jong had been on that very same street! Fucking CIA never gets it right.

Sami 04-22-2004 08:06 AM

If it was a CIA attempt, they will obviously deny it.

swedguy 04-22-2004 08:10 AM

DAMN, that's some serious shit.

Too many "big" things involved for it to be just an accident.

Trains loaded with petroleum and natural gas = big enough explosin to level a city. The target doesn't have to be close to the colliding trains.
It's not a secret that Bush wants to get rid of Kim Jong-il, but a war is not a solution.
Kim Jong-il passed through the city hours before, too bad the collision was 9 hours late.

Could be an accident but it doesn't really feel like it.

KRL 04-22-2004 08:10 AM

It was a coincidental accident involving one of the trains which was transporting petroleum.

Don't give the CIA that much credit. They aren't that good.

:1orglaugh

tbabe 04-22-2004 08:13 AM

ya, they just missed him by 9 hours. Sooooo close. :)

I love countries where a train wreck kills 3 thousand people. LOL

It's a security measure. He wasn't gonna let people know the real time that he was gonna take the train.

So when the CIA is gonna blow up two trains filled with petroleum and other explosive stuff, they just throw a dart at a clock and hope for the best?

Im pretty sure this was just an accident, maybe north korea outsourced their rail system to amtrak

zzgundamnzz 04-22-2004 08:40 AM

Is that guy un-killable or what? He gets shot in the ass now this...

Furious_Male 04-22-2004 08:53 AM

I am open minded enough to understand the CIA or another Govt agency we don't even know about may try such tactics. Anything is possible in this world..

Buuuuuuuut I think some of you guys watch way to much Alias. I dont see a 9 hour blunder or a gamble being taken in regards to the time line with 3k lives on the line.

They took a gamble on the WMD thing didn't they?
Besides, it doesn't even have to be the CIA themselves, it could be some people that the CIA paid to spy on Kim Jong Il.
