Alternatives to Photoshop?

I have been using it for a while but I just dont seem to be getting on with it......

I prefer "Fireworks", but it just dosnt have the grunt I need...... In particular it is really bad with text

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Illustrator, depending how much vector stuff you're doing. Paintshop pro is pretty good for raster/pixel stuff .. if a bit clunky.

I think one of the best alternatives to Photoshop is Paint Shop Pro from Jasc. Go to there website and check them out. They got a free demo of PSP.

There really is no substitute for Photoshop. Once you get past the learning curve, nothing even comes close to the capabilities you can achieve with it. Learn it - it's worth it! My :2 cents:

for raster shit, FireworksMX has the best text tool of any prog.

I bring all my text in from FWMX.

But if all you want is an alternative to PS.. go with PSP.
Get a copy of v7 though... v8 is utter trash.

Yep, just came out. I need something simple that has better vector editing than Photoshop so I'm trying it out. So far so good ;)
